With the theatrical release of The Expendables 2 only a little over a month away, advertising for both the film and its associated side-projects (specifically the video game) has kicked into high gear. And so, this week, Ubisoft released a trailer for the videogame featuring Terry Crews and Dolph Lundgren, both of whom have playable characters within the game. The trailer showcases a lot more action than the screenshots could possibly provide, and, interestingly, make the game look like it features quite a bit more than your typical two-stick shooter. Of course, since the game is rated M, we can’t embed the trailer here (as with ZombiU), but we can link to it, and the completely age gate-free YouTube (might be time for the ESRB to get with the times or for YouTube to enable age gates)!
Along with the trailer came the announcement of the game’s release date. Interestingly, not all versions of the game will be launching along with the movie. The XBLA and PC versions will be available on August 17th (for 1200 Microsoft Points/$14.99 respectively), however the PSN version will be available on July 31st. Beyond that, Playstation Plus members will get a discounted price of $11.99.
